About

I am Patricia Therkelsen, a professionally qualified counsellor andprofile-pic psychotherapist since 2012.  I was trained in a person centred approach however; I use a variety of counselling models to cater for your individual needs. As well as holding an Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University & PCI College; I am an accredited member of the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I am committed towards my Continuous Professional Development and have completed the training programme on Childhood Sexual Abuse given by the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre. I  also obtained Certificates on Expressive Art Therapy, CBT for Creating Confidence and a Professional Certificate in Couples Counselling.  I am currently working towards a Level 8 Certificate in Working with Children and Adolescents. 

I am very involved in the IACP ,the governing body for counselling and psychotherapy in my role as Chairperson of the Dublin Regional Committee.

My office is situated in the very quiet area of Woodenbridge. (Search my name in Google Maps) The first session is used to set out what counselling involves and what your expectations are.  It is an opportunity to ask questions and briefly outline what you need.

I also work  as the clinical coordinator for  Living Life Counselling Centre in Arklow.  My role there involves, along side the day to day running of the centre, conducting the initial assessments with clients and placing them with the best suited counsellor, as well as  mentoring the trainees.
